Ricardo recently completed a comprehensive course on enhancing network security using FortiGate features. Through a blend of demos and interactive simulations, he learned to perform essential operational tasks on FortiGate devices. This foundational knowledge has equipped him to delve into more advanced topics and features, ensuring a robust understanding of network security management.

The course is designed for IT and cybersecurity professionals responsible for daily network operations and administrative tasks using FortiGate. Prior to attending, Ricardo understood Network Fundamentals, the Threat Landscape, and Technical Cybersecurity.

Throughout the course, Ricardo covered a wide range of topics, including an overview of FortiGate, configuring interfaces and routing, firewall policies, and authenticating network users. He also learned to inspect SSL traffic, block malware, control web access with web filtering, and configure the FortiGate Intrusion Prevention System. Additional topics included controlling application access, creating IPsec and SSL VPNs, performing system maintenance, monitoring, and configuring the Fortinet Security Fabric.

Upon completing the course, Ricardo became proficient in configuring high-level features on FortiGate devices, securely connecting remote users to the corporate network using VPNs, restricting access to network resources, monitoring essential indicators and logs, and performing system maintenance, significantly enhancing a network’s security posture.
