What a fabulous trip to Belgium to visit the Basalte factory and concept house.

Organised by Sophie Thomas and the Ivory Egg team, this was a great opportunity to learn more about Basalte and their manufacturing.

We were treated to amazing weather, food and strong beer and had fantastic tours from Koen Dekyvere and colleagues.

Whilst we have used Basalte products in previous projects; this trip has given more insights into how we might incorporate more in the future, particularly in KNX projects, but also within Crestron Electronics or Lutron Electronics systems.

One of the products of great interest was the Adelante door entry system and the progress being made on that is very promising indeed. It is simply stunning and is light years ahead of the market in terms of the aesthetics. Basalte is targeting early 2024 shipping currently.

The manufacturing facility was incredible and seeing how they build the product was eye-opening and every part of the process highlighted the value their products bring to projects. Incredible seeing huge billets of aluminium and brass being machined down into the most beautiful parts with exceptional finishes.

All in all, a very worthwhile trip and thank you to everyone involved.
